The Chuka University Faculty of Law was accredited by the Council of Legal Education in December 2020 to offer the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) programme. The niche area of the LLB programme is Environmental Law and Land Laws. The LLB programme provides students with a sound knowledge of the general principles of Kenyan legal systems as well as regional and global legal system with emphasis on land and environmental laws.
The ultimate Vision of the Faculty is to be a premier faculty for the provision of quality legal education, training, research and extension in land and environmental laws. The Faculty of Law believes that sustainable national and global development can be achieved through its Mission which is to; provide accessible legal education, training and research, generate, preserve, share knowledge and nurture an intellectual culture that integrates theory with practice and innovation for effective ethical leadership in the society. Therefore, graduates from Chuka University Faculty of Law will be able to critically assess, interpret and apply various laws and have the historical, comparative and jurisprudential background that is essential for a sound understanding of laws and legal institutions.
In curriculum development, the requirements relating to mounting of new programmes given by the Commission for University Education (CUE) and the Council of Legal Education (CLE) were adhered to.
The Bachelor of Law programme commenced in May, 2021. The Chuka University Faculty of Law has gained popularity growing from the initial admission of 14 students to a total of 151 students in December 2022. The increasing popularity evidenced by the rapid growth of student population affirms that the Chuka University Faculty of Law is the preferred choice among prospective law students in Kenya. The Faculty of Law has adequate facilities and full time staff to meet the demand for the programme in line with the requirements of Council of Legal Education (CLE). Facilities in the Faculty of Law include; offices, lecturer halls, seminar rooms, a moot court, an e-resource center and a law library. With the leadership and facilitation by the Chuka University Council and Management, a new Law complex is under construction adjacent to the new Chuka University Administration Block. Upon completion the School of Law will be housed in the new Law complex to accommodate larger student numbers and provide more spacious facilities.

Beyond teaching and learning, the Faculty of Law has leveraged on partnerships and collaborations with leading legal practitioners, civil society organizations, NEMA, the Judiciary and the Office of Director of Public Prosecutions. Through these partnerships, the Faculty has under taken mentorship programmes and exposed law students to Moot Court competitions. The University has facilitated Faculty of Law students’ participation in various moot court competitions including; Natural Justice Moot Court and University of Embu/ Eagles for Life SOGIEC Moot Court where Chuka University Faculty of Law students have won prizes in various categories including; Best Male Oralist, Best Female Oralist, Best Team and Best Memorials.
